Our Story

In April of 1984, Russel P. Swaney, founded Swaney Sales.

Russel Swaney received an Engineering Degree in 1955 from the University of Michigan and served two years in the United States Air Force before returning to Grand Rapids. Swaney’s experience in the HVAC field started as a REP for Lennox Industries and in 1964 he went to work for The Behler-Young Company as Commercial Sales Manager handling REP sales covering the State of Michigan.

The majority of the lines represented by Swaney Sales today, were established over 45 years ago by RP Swaney; displaying the trust in both our founder and current team. 

We now offer complete coverage of the HVAC market with products for the air side contractor such as: spiral duct, louvers, fire dampers, fans, terminal units, pressure stacks, fiberglass duct, underground duct, hoods, relief vents and grilles, registers, and diffusers.

On the mechanical contractor’s side, we offer products covering heating and make-up air equipment, energy recovery units, electronic humidifiers, packaged rooftop heating units, vertical unit ventilators, cabinet unit heaters, convectors, fin tube radiation, radiant panels, and electric duct heaters.
